Repeating Patterns: The Tortoise & The Hare

Posted on Dec 5, 2012

I recently, became interested in Aesop’s fables, in particular, the story of the Tortoise and the Hare.  I found myself identifying on a very personal level to the timeless story of the dynamic duo. Intending to depict the simple story of a wildly impatient hare in contrast to a slow poke turtle, the series came to represent an epic journey of unconditional love and all of the emotions that go along with it.

Repeating Patterns: The Tortoise & The Hare opens December 7th at Three Graces in downtown Portsmouth.

This exhibition is bittersweet as it marks the end of Three Graces Gallery. I’ve been the owner/curator of this special place in Portsmouth, NH since opening in 2004. I put my heart and soul into the gallery for nine years, and found myself wanting to put my heart and soul into other things. Three Graces will live on as Three Graces Creative, where I will focus on creating my own artwork, continue to design websites (as I have for the past six years), and promote artists and art in general thru a blog.

Join us at the opening Reception, Friday December 7th, 5-8pm in conjunction with art ’round town. This exhibition runs thru December 31st and will be Three Graces’ last exhibition. Thank you for an amazing nine years! xx
