"Joie de Vivre: Music"

Inspired by simple pleasures and the exuberant enjoyment of life, what the French refer to as “ joie de vivre”. This painting of the fox with the phonograph was the first painting in the series. It remains one of my personal favorites.

Purchased this same print at my friend's gallery (Lark & Key) as a birthday gift for my niece and loved it so much I almost couldn't give it away. So I did what any art lover would do and purchased one for myself from her Etsy shop.

I had the good luck to discover Kim's work at a summer art event near me (ArtBeat, Somerville, MA). I was immediately enchanted by her paintings. I really struggled to decide on a piece and ultimately settled on the 'Reading' bear from her Joie de Vivre series. When I got home, I realized he needed friends! I chose two more pieces - the 'Music' fox with phonograph and the 'cupcake' raccoon. As a seller, Kim was responsive, communicative, and fast at shipping - they came very well packaged. Once they're framed, I'll display them by a bookshelf, by a record player, and in the kitchen. (This will be weirdly satisfying to me on a deep level).

There's so much pure joy in this collection. I'm picky about art and would rather keep my walls blank than hang something that didn't delight me through and through; this does. Thanks Kim!
