I AM PUBLISHING MY FIRST BOOK AND I NEED YOUR HELP!
"R is for Rainbow" is a a 32-page full-color hardcover book featuring the paintings created for my solo show ‘Abecedarian’ at Lark & Key this past October. I am launching a Kickstarter campaign on March 1st to help raise funds for the final publishing costs.
WHAT IS KICKSTARTER AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
Kickstarter is a funding platform for creative projects. Everything from film, games, and music to art, design, and technology. Kickstarter is full of ambitious, innovative, and imaginative projects that are brought to life through the direct support of others.
Every project creator sets their project's funding goal and deadline. If people like the project, they can pledge money to make it happen. If the project succeeds in reaching its funding goal, all backers' credit cards are charged when time expires. Funding on Kickstarter is all-or-nothing. If the project falls short of its funding goal, no one is charged.
HOW CAN I SUPPORT YOUR PROJECT?
My campaign will be launched at 6pm on Monday, March 1st. Backers can choose from a selection of rewards including advanced signed copies of the book, a set of postcards and limited-edition prints featuring artwork from the book. (The pledge amount for these rewards ranges from $10 to $95)
I've also created 10 new oil paintings inspired by paintings included in the book that will be available (first come first serve). Each painting will include an advanced signed copy of the book and a set of 10 postcards. (The pledge amount for original oil paintings range from $350 to $1,600)
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I MAKE A PLEDGE?
You will be asked to enter your payment info at the time of pledging, but your card will not be charged until the end of the campaign on March 30th. You will receive an email notification from Kickstarter saying that my project has reached it's goal and your credit card will be charged. I will reach out to confirm your shipping address and other details regarding your pledge. I will receive payment from Kickstarter in mid-April. At that time, I will ship all original paintings. Books, postcards and limited-edition prints will be ready to ship in mid-May.
WHAT IF I WANT MORE THAN ONE OR TWO BOOKS?
Additional books and/or postcard sets can be added on to any reward tier. (Backers can only select one reward to pledge)
