From February 7 through March 1, Nahcotta will be exhibiting the newest work from artist Kim Ferreira in a solo show titled Untold Tales. The opening reception will take place at Nahcotta on Friday, February 7, from 5-7 p.m.
Playful. Fanciful. Imaginative. Inspired. Whimsical. Joyful. Any and all of these adjectives can aptly and accurately describe the work of Kim Ferreira. Bringing woodland animals to life in a series of charming paintings, Ferreira captivates viewers with bears communing with hummingbirds, a squirrel offering up a cup of tea in proper china, a kaleidoscope of butterflies carrying him aloft, a raccoon clutching a cupcake, a badger with devil’s food cake, and a deer standing beside the sea. Her work is nothing if not enchanting.
A New Hampshire-based artist, she has a BFA from University of New Hampshire and owned her Portsmouth, NH art gallery “Three Graces” for a decade. Ferreira regularly shows her artwork with Lark & Key in South Carolina, as well as Nahcotta. While she has shown in numerous Enormous Tiny Art exhibitions and group shows with Nahcotta, this is her first solo show with the gallery.
