"Island Garden" Limited Edition Print (Unframed)

This is an archival art print of my original oil painting. The series is inspired by simple pleasures and the exuberant enjoyment of life, what the French refer to as “ joie de vivre”. 

This painting is inspired by poet Celia Thaxter’s garden located on Appledore Island, part of the Isles of Shoals, approximately six miles off the coast of New Hampshire and Maine. You can visit the island and see a recreation of her garden. I have her book, “An Island Garden”, in which Ms. Thaxter writes about her beloved flowers and her meticulous planning. I love her somewhat self-deprecating humor in regard to her dedication in maintaining her island garden.
