Inspired by romance and my husband's love for classical music.
One of my favorite objects to paint is a phonograph. Or is it a gramophone? I've looked it up a few times and can't seem to wrap my head around the difference. Anyway, I think they are so beautiful and wish that such things were still made with the same aesthetic, quality materials and attention to detail. Is there anything more romantic than the idea of picnicking in a sun-filled glade surrounded by old growth, the sweet sounds of old standards powered by the rotation of a little lever. I think not. Sigh. I was born in the wrong era.

I recently bought this as a gift for my teenage daughter who loves Kim's work (the foxes are her favorites). She also loves classical music, so the phonograph is an added joy.
