My Mimi is the inspiration for all of my knitting critters. She worked in a jewelry factory within walking distance from her home. (My grandfather worked there too.) My mom has told me how she would check-in at the window in front of her mom's work station on her way home from school. My Mimi was also a wonderful cook, baker, bartender, gardener and seamstress. Her exercise was wallpapering. Sadly she passed when I was just six years old. My memories of her are fuzzy, and warm. She taught me how to knit and purl. And that there is great satisfaction in creating things for yourself and others with your own two hands.
