Awhile back my husband hacked down my beloved butterfly bush in haste, not realizing what it was, I was very upset. In her place (which to be honest did not provide her with enough sun) we planted a beautiful blue hydrangea. I had to fib to my husband about how large she would grow (my chaotic gardening style induces anxiety, he likes things small and tidy). She is so very special to me, the truest blue, the queen in a quiet corner. She sparkles in the shade.
