"The Good China" Limited Edition Print (Unframed)
Inspired by the joy of using pretty porcelain.
This painting was part of a party themed mini-series I created for a group show. My husband and I love to entertain. We are in agreement that part of the experience is the glassware and dishes. I came across an old set of dishes and bowls at a thrift store a few years before we were married. The pattern is called "blue onion" - I think in reference to the color as the design is actually pomegranates. In any case, it happens to be a very popular pattern that was originally manufactured by Meissen in Germany in the 1700's. It has since been copied by many other companies in all parts of the world. We come across it often in our antiquing and have been able to add to our collection over the years.
